FROM WASTE TO RESOURCE

Combine Basic and Applied Research for Sustainable Waste Management Solutions

Welcome to our Waste-to-Resource (W2R) Laboratory

Motivated by the increasing global demand for water, energy, and food, along with the need to minimize the carbon footprint of food production, we combine fundamental and applied research to develop sustainable processes. We achieve this by integrating biological and thermochemical technologies to recover valuable resources from solid waste.

New published paper

By Irit Hassid | Sep 26, 2024

Mixed polymer plastics cannot undergo mechanical recycling, resulting in heterogeneous low-quality recycled products. This work indicates that the hydrothermal platform can valorize landfill-designated mixed polymer plastics and should be considered as a beneficial alternative for a circular plastic economy.
