Visit in Evron Solid Waste Site

Today we wrapped up an inspiring and highly informative tour at the Evron site of solid waste management in the Western Galilee, as part of my Technion course on Advanced Technologies in Solid Waste Management.

Our visit covered the full spectrum of modern waste treatment:
The sorting and recovery facility featuring advanced mechanical and automated sorting systems for solid waste.
The landfill area, where we discussed engineering design, environmental safeguards, and long-term monitoring.
Leachate treatment facilities, providing a real-world look at cutting-edge solutions for managing complex landfill leachates.
The biogas-to-energy generator, demonstrating how waste can be transformed into renewable electricity on-site.

It was a fascinating and enriching experience for the students and for me.
A huge thank-you to our wonderful hosts for their time, professionalism, and hospitality.

Looking forward to returning next year!
