The Annual Conference on Science and the Environment
Another Annual Conference on Science and the Environment has come to an end, and I would like to thank the Israel Society of Ecology and Environmental Sciences (ISEES) for the opportunity to present the work of the W2R Lab.
This year, we presented research on applying circular economy principles to sustainable agriculture, including hydrothermal carbonization, constructed wetlands, innovative treatment of challenging side streams such as digestates and mixed plastic waste, and the role of cover crops in addressing soil salinization.
While these projects span different technologies and systems, they all share the same vision: harnessing innovative environmental technologies to tackle the challenges of a rapidly changing world under growing climate pressure.
Many thanks to our students, collaborators, and everyone who joined our sessions, asked insightful questions, and contributed to inspiring discussions. Looking forward to next year’s conference!
